Why did you get into theatre?
When they [the play’s team] approached me and narrated the story, I got attached to it. Theatre is always exciting, and a respected form of art. It sharpens your skills as an actor. That’s why I took this up.

Tell us about your character.
I play the role of a suicidal, aggressive fast bowler. The play revolves around him coming to terms with reality. For the part, I had to work on making this person come across as lovable. I’m proud to say I’ve become better at acting through theatre.

What kind of association have you had with theatre before?
I’ve done amateur theatre since 2013. It’s not completely new to me. I’m nervous. But I’m excited at the same time. It’s great performing in front of a live audience.
What kind of projects do you want to take up in the future?
I’m open to doing films. Not just any movies, but ones that interest me as an audience member. I love theatre, and will continue doing it even after doing films. I have been receiving film offers. But none have excited me so far.
