After 13 years in the industry, unlike many of his counterparts, actor Kunal Kapoor wants to do roles that give him a new experience and insists that he is not “choosy” when he is offered scripts. “I don’t think choosy is the right word.
I am sure it might look that way, but it’s not true. Given a choice, I would love to do lots of work, but, it doesn’t happen that way,” he says, and goes on to explain, “I don’t want to do random work, just for the sake of it. I don’t want to work just because I want to be seen or be on the sets where just another film is being made.”

The 38-year-old actor who was in the Capital last week to promote his upcoming period drama,Veeram, wants filmmakers to offer him challenging roles. “I have been offered similar parts — of a poet or a sensitive guy for a very long time. But I am not interested. I want a director to challenge me. When someone like a Tigmanshu Dhulia or Jairam Nair ( Malayalam National Award winning filmmaker) comes to you and tell that ‘Listen I want to do a role that you have never done before,’- that’s the kind of work you want to do. In my case, those have been opportunities which have been few and far between. But I don’t think I can say I have any regrets,” he adds.
