New Delhi, February 14, (ANI): The Delhi Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday after the session witnessed continued protests by the opposition over the Jan Lokpal Bill.
Earlier, the Delhi Assembly Speaker M.S. Dhir announced that the Jan Lokpal Bill has not been introduced in the House.
“42 MLAs are against and 27 are for it, so Jan Lokpal Bill is not being introduced,” said Dhir after voting took place for the introduction of the bill.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had threatened to resign if he is prevented by other parties from introducing the bill, said: “I can even give my life for the country and people, CMship is no big deal. We had thought we would learn from veteran legislators, but we are somewhat disappointed. It is sad that there is so much chaos inside the temple of democracy, mikes are broken, papers torn.”
Meanwhile, hundreds of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers have gathered outside the party office asking Kejriwal to tender his resignation after the Jan Lokpal Bill did not get the required votes to be introduced in the Delhi Assembly.
