Divya Raje Bhonsale, Indore: Use of school education department’s M-Shiksha Mitra application in Indore and Bhopal districts is much lower than
smaller districts, according to the latest survey conducted by the state government.
The application was launched in September last year for school teachers and other staff of state-run schools.
Statistics released by the department on its official website showed that Burhanpur with 49.58% of usage topped the list of 51 districts followed by Rajgarh with 43.21%. Indore is ranked third with 23.98% while the state capital is at 42nd position with 01.31%.
The application has been built to provide school teachers and staff a smooth experience in various activities such as marking their daily attendance, applying for leave, checking pay slips and registering complaints.
Anurag Jaiswal, Indore district education officer, told HT: “The problem with bigger districts is that we (the officials) are not able to hold direct one-to-one discussion with teachers in regard to the app.” He said, “Smaller districts have lesser area and staff to cover. In smaller districts, one-on-one interaction happens at a faster scale.” It is compulsory for teachers and other school staff to mark their attendance through the application. The statistics showed that not many people are using the app.
To this, Jaiswal said, “They either forget or in case they come late to work, they mark their attendance manually. We are trying to sort this out by monitoring.”
“Another problem is that pay slips are still not available on the app. It will take some time,” Jaiswal told HT.
