Odisha, February 14, Abhijit Saha: The Aam Aadmi Party’s national executive member Yogendra Yadav said that they are looking for an honest candidate to field against the ruling BJD Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Odisha in the forthcoming assembly elections. He said this yesterday on their first ever public meeting. He said that the state leadership has already been asked to identify an honest candidate to field against Naveen Patnaik.
Yadav criticized Naveen Patnaik government for the Rs. 60,000 Crore mining scam. He compared the CM of Odisha Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with Mauni Baba who can see corruptions taking place before his eyes but taking no actions against it.
Referring to the Shah Commission report he said that the scam amounts to Rs. 60,000 crore which the state government has already admitted by issuing notice to the miners for raising excess minerals.
He said that the Rs. 60,000 Crore of the mining scam may be utilized for the development of the villages in the state. This should be considered a shame not only by the people of Odisha but the nation should consider it as a great shame.
He also criticized Naveen for not being able to speak Odia which is the language of the state. He said that it is a great shame that a chief minister cannot speak the mother tongue of the people in Odisha. He said that he feels ashamed of himself also for not being able to speak Odia language when the odia people can speak Hindi fairly well which is his mother tongue. He said he should learn Odia.
Mr. Yadav taking instance of the Posco and Vedanta Projects said that the government must consult with the people affecting by the steel and aluminium plants.
