BJP suspends Bihar MLC arrested for eve teasing

Patna, July 24 – The BJP on Sunday suspended its legislator Tunnaji Pandey after he was arrested for allegedly eve teasing a minor girl in a running train in Bihar’s Vaishali district.

A state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Mayukh told reporters here that Pandey has been suspended from the party soon after he was held for harassing a minor girl.

BJP has also issued a show-cause notice to Tunnaji Pandey in this connection, he said.

Pandey, who is a member of legislative council (MLC) of Bihar, was arrested at Hajipur railway station in Vaishali district by the Government Railway Police on the complaint of the girl, a police official said.

According to the girl’s complaint, Pandey tried to molest her and also misbehaved with her early on Sunday in a running train, police said.

Both were travelling in Purvanchal express.

Pandey, a criminal-turned-politician, is also known to be a member of liquor mafia of Uttar Pradesh.

He also had liquor business in Bihar before a total prohibition was imposed in the state on April 5.
