NEW DELHI: The stage is set for another stormy week in the Parliament. The opposition and the government has been at loggerheads over the VVIP chopper scam since the time a Milan court gave its verdict.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is expected to brief the Parliament on this issue on Wednesday. But situation in Parliament is expected to be stormy through out the week.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha for suspension of all business to pave way for immediate discussion on the alleged AgustaWestland chopper scam.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had questioned the silence of the TMC and the CPI (M) over the VVIP chopper deal.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said he will place all facts along with the detailed chronology about the controversial chopper deal before Parliament on May 4.
“I will place the detailed chronology with documents giving facts about AgustaWestland chopper deal before Parliament on May 4,” he said in Panaji.
The government has already virtually given up on their hopes to pass the crucial GST bill in this session of the Parliament.
