NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Police released screen-grabs from the CCTV footage of two men who are believed to be involved in the murder of National Investigating Agency (NIA) officer Tanzil Ahmad in Bijnor, reports the Times of India. The police checked the video footage of the wedding that Tanzil had attended last weekend in Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh.
Insepctor General (IG) Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Asim Arun said that relatives of Tanzil verified that the two youths seen in the video were not known to them. The police also showed the photographs of the of suspects to employees of the tent house and catering services for the wedding who alsocouldn’t identify them.
Deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Tanzil Ahmad had handled important terror cases with regards and had played a major role in NIA’s probe into Bijnor blast and some sleeping modules of the banned outfit Student’s Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Western Uttar Pradesh.
