Kolkata flyover tragedy: Three IVRCL officials arrested over murder charges; death toll rises to 24

KOLKATA: In a late night development, Kolkata Police arrested as many as three senior officials of IVRCL on Friday.

The police arrested Mallika Arjun, senior AGM, Pradip Kumar Saha Manager Structural VRF and Debojyoti Majumdar Assistant Manager Administration.

The police had earlier detained a total of 10 officials which included K Prassad AGM Corporate and Liaso, Kamalesh Talukdar AGM Projects Regional Head North East, Ravindra Chari Deputy General Manager Legal, RK Gopal Nanduri President and Ramanna Rao Assistant Manager HR and Administration.

Earlier in the day, the police sealed three offices belonging to the construction company located at Kasba, Anandapur and Beadon Street. A guest house at Salt Lake registered under the name of the company was also sealed.

Kolkata Police has formed a 23-member SIT to probe into the collapse. A team comprising Kolkata Police officials even raided the office at Hyderabad and questioned HR and legal officers for three hours.

They were questioned over the deployment of labourers at the construction site – flyover and what their role was.
