RSS not pleased with excessive praise of PM Modi; asks not to encourage ‘individual worship’

NAGPUR: Expressing its displeasure over BJP leaders describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘God’s gift to India’, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reportedly suggested that the party leadership avoid encouraging individual worship.

“The RSS leaders on Tuesday held discussions with top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders at Deendayal Shodh Sansthan and suggested to the BJP leadership not to encourage ‘individual worship’ as ‘organisation’ is supreme in the RSS, reported IANS quoting sources.

However, the RSS supported the BJP’s move to go ahead with the issue of nationalism in the upcoming assembly polls in five states and suggested the issue of development be incorporated in it.
The RSS’ displeasure comes a day after senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu described Modi as ‘God’s gift to India’. He had made the statement while moving a political resolution at the BJP national executive meeting in New Delhi.
Calling PM the “Modifier of developing India”, Naidu also said that Modi was a ‘messiah of the poor’, one of the most popular leaders in the world and a prime minister on a mission to transform India, according to a statement issued by his office.
