New Delhi, 8 April-2014, (Rupashree Nanda/IANS): There has been yet another attack on Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal as he was slapped by an unidentified man on Tuesday. The incident took place while Kejriwal was campaigning in Sultanpuri. The attacker is yet to be identified, but he was dressed like an autorickshaw driver. He attacked Kejriwal while he was travelling in an open jeep.
Following the attack, some people at the rally, started beating the attacker, following which Kejriwal asked them to let him go.
This comes just days after Kejriwal was attacked in a similar fashion during a road show in South Delhi.
Last week, Kejriwal was slapped by a man in Dakshinpuri in Delhi. AAP workers beat the attacker up following the incident. The police had identified him as Abdul Wahid, a resident of the Batla House area in Jamia Nagar.
Kejriwal has been attacked often in the past few days while campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal had faced an ink attack in Varanasi on the day he announced his candidature from the temple town.
He was also attacked in Bhiwani in Haryana last week, following which he had asked his supporters not to resort to violence.
Earlier AAP leader Yogendra Yadav too had faced an ink attack at Jantar Mantar last month.
Kejriwal has been refusing to accept security cover despite such attacks on him saying he wants to end the VVIP culture.
