Japanese auto major Honda on Friday said it will recall a total of 57,676 units of its City, Jazz and Civic models in India to fix faulty driver side airbags. The recall is part of the car maker’s global recall campaign over defective airbag inflators.
The call back will impact 49,572 units of sedan City manufactured between January 2012-June 2013, 7,504 units of Jazz manufactured between February 2013-February 2013 and 600 units of Civic manufactured between January 2012 and August 2012.
The company said it will voluntarily replace driver side airbag inflators of all the vehicles free of cost in a phased manner across the country.
Earlier, in September 2015, Honda Cars India had recalled 2.23 lakh units of its premium sports utility vehicles – CR-V, sedans Civic, City and hatchback Jazz, manufactured between 2003 and 2012, to replace faulty airbag inflators in one of the largest such exercise in the country
