After the success of Maya, Nayanthara seems to be much in demand for female-oriented lead roles. She has been roped in for debutant director Doss Ramasamy’s film, which will kick-start later this month.
Doss, an associate of director Sarkunam, says, “The film falls under the fantasy crime-thriller genre, something that appealed a lot to Nayanthara. There will be a few ghost scenes, but it’s not entirely a horror script.”
The initial story of this yet-to-be-titled film was written with a male protagonist in mind, but after the success of Maya, Doss tweaked the lead character into a female one. “It was my mentor, Sarkunam, who suggested that it would work better with a female protagonist. So, I tweaked the story with Nayanthara in mind.” The actor is already busy with two other projects — Vikram’s Iru Murugan and Karthi’s Kashmora – at the moment.
The film, which will mostly be shot in Chennai, will also feature Thambi Ramaiah and Harish Uthaman among others. Vivek-Mervin will be scoring music for the project that will be produced by Nemichand Jhabak and Sarkunam Cinemas.
