Yuvraj Singh made a triumphant return to the Indian team, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selected the 15-man Indian squad for the World Twenty20 and the preceding Asia Cup on Friday.
However, Manish Pandey, India’s hero of the 5th ODI against Australia last month, has been ignored by the selectors.
Ajinkya Rahane, who was said to be in contention for the seventh specialist batsman along with Pandey, has got the nod instead.
India’s Asia Cup T20 and ICC World Twenty20 squads are identical, and will be led by MS Dhoni.
Youngster Jasprit Bumrah has earned a place in the side for his good performances during the Australia series, while Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan also been included in the side.
