Students’ death at Murud beach: Maharashtra CM Fadnavis expresses condolences to the families of victims

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed condolences to the families of the students who lost their lives at Murud beach in Raigadh.

14 students from Pune’s Inamdar College lost their lives on Monday by drowning off the beach in Raigadh. The deceased comprise of 10 boys and three girls; one student is unidentified.

MoS Social Justice Dilip Kamble said, “Maharashtra govt stands with families of deceased.”

Extremely saddened & shocked to know about the Murud incident where 14 students lost their lives. My deepest condolences to the families.

The Indian Coast Guard launched a search operation for the victims of the incident.

Around 130 students had gone to the beach for a picnic when the incident happened. The search for the missing students is on with help from locals.

Instructed the Collector to take care of all students.He informed that 14 bodies recovered,saved lives of 5 girls & are being hospitalised.

The following are the names believed to be of the children drowned: Shifa Kazi, Sumayaa Ansari, Yusuf Ansari, Supriya Paal, Farhin Sayyed, Iftikhar Shekh, Sajid Chaudhari, Raj Tanjini, Swapnali Sangat, Samrin Shaikh, Shafia Ansari, Rafia Ansari and Sana Munir.
