The newly elected office-bearers of the South Indian Artistes Association (SIAA) or Nadigar Sangam are now preparing to take legal action against the former office-bearers including the ex-President Sarath Kumar. This was announced by current President Nasser at a press conference in Chennai on Sunday.
Nasser told media that it has been three months since they requested for the complete accounts of the SIAA for the year 2014-15 and the accounts of the Charitable Trust for the years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. However, the Nadigar Sagam has not received these accounts. Thus, they have decided to file complaints against the former President Sarath Kumar, the ex-secretary and the ex-treasurer with the economic offences wing.
Actor Karthi who is now the treasurer stated that the accounts of the Trust which they had filed were unauthenticated and the vouchers had no approval. Thus, they have requested for the proper papers. The papers are being audited now and show cause notices are being prepared he added.
