Kiku Sharda aka ‘Palak’ from ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ arrested for mimicking Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

Well known actor and comedian Kiku Sharda from ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ has gotten into serious trouble. Sharda who plays Palak in ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, has been arrested for mimicking Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

He has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

Singh’s followers had filed a complaint on January 1 against the actor with the police after the show where Sharda mimicked the godman was aired on 27 December.

Kiku Sharda speaks about his arrest for mimicking Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh: Actor Kiku Sharda who plays Palak on ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma’ was on Wednesday arrested for mimicking Baba Ram Rahim Singh and sent to 14 days judicial custody in Kaithal, Haryana.

Here is what he had to say about his arrest. “I’m an artist who is given a role, a get-up and told what to do. I’ve already apologised, I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiments. I did not mean to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. I am sorry, I was just following a script,” the actor said.

“Usually if some objectionable word comes out while performing, it’s edited by the channel. This is also channel’s responsibility,” he added.

“I am really very, very sorry. If I’ve hurt anyone’s sentiments. I fold my hands and apologise to everyone,” he said.

Well, we hope the talented actor gets relief from this soon.

According to reports, Sharda was arrested and taken to Aarey Police station and will be taken to Haryana for further investigation.
