Speaking on the sidelines of a programme after launching Facebook and Twitter accounts of Employment Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the Union Minister said the government was aiming to bring all workers in the unorganised sector under social security net.

He said the Labour Ministry will soon provide the workers with an Unorganised Worker Identification Number card – U WIN number under smart cards.

Dattatreya said welfare schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Suraksha Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana would be converged into these smart cards to enable beneficiaries to avail benefits without hassles.

He further said the smart cards would have portability and function anywhere for migrant workers.
