New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has launched a scathing attack on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for using unparliamentary language against PM Modi.

In a Facebook post, Jaitley said that, “People in positions are expected to act with restraint. They cannot be outlandish.Vulgarity is not a right available to them. The political discourse cannot be couched in vulgar language. Falsehood delivered with vulgar overtones is not a substitute of truth. Lumpenisation of public discourse can never be high point of politics. ”

Jaitley has also accused AAP govt and its supporters of lowering level of public discourse in the country. Jaitley’s attack comes at a time, when AAP has alleged him of being involved in DDCA scam and has even constituted an enquiry committee to probe the matter. BJP MP Kirti Azad has been suspended from the party for his harsh comments about Arun Jaitley.

Jaitley believes that now Congress is also ‘misled’ in believing that politics of vulgarity will bring votes. Jaitley in his post has also hit out at Congress for paralysing Rajya Sabha. According to Jaitley, the tradition of Standing Committee will be hurt in recent times. Jaitley alleges that the current generation of Congress leaders are weakening legacy set up by their ancestors.
