Jai Gangaajal trailer: Priyanka Chopra’s Dabangg avatar will bowl you over!

Bollywood is indeed a male-dominated industry. From a time where Bollywood heroines were mostly used as showpieces alongside a much more popular male actor, the film fraternity has come a long way. Courtesy, the Vidya Balans and the Kangana Ranauts, the Deepika Padukones, the Priyanka Chopras, et al! Slowly, a new revolution has started- one where female actresses are giving stiff competition to the male actors. Today, makers are writing roles only for women with the actress as the central character, something that hardly existed about a decade back.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s Jai Gangaajal takes that legacy forward. While the actress can be seen packing in quite a punch as the ‘jile ki pehli mahila SP’. The actress bowls you over with her perfect nuances. While Ajay Devgn had nailed the tough cop act in the film’s first instalment, Priyanka seems to have taken that on her stride and delivered an earnest performance in the two and half minute trailer.

This is not the first time that Piggy chops has taken up a strong female character and history has it that she’s possibly one of the finest we have in the industry. Even recently, PC floored everyone with her commendable Kashibai act in Bajirao Mastani. But Prakash Jha tries to capture an altogether different side of the leggy heroine. Fierce, unforgiving and righteous, Priyanka’s Abha Mathur is like the female version of Dabangg as she hits, punches, kicks and shoots with powerful aplomb.

In her battle against corruption, Priyanka has definitely managed to steal the attention but giving her company is the film’s director who seems to have grey shades in the film. Prakash Jha as BN Singh also gives a stiff fight to PeeCee for limelight and the big showdown between the two is one of the major highlights from the trailer.
