Don’t scare us with case, prove innocence in court, Arvind Kejriwal tells Arun Jaitley

NEW DELHI(PTI): Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has advised Union finance minister Arun Jaitley to cooperate with the commission of inquiry and prove his innocence in the DDCA case.

Reacting to Jaitley’s defamation case, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Arun Jaitley should not try to scare us by filing cases. Our fight against corruption will continue.”

Kejriwal’s reaction came hours after Jaitley filed a civil defamation suit in the Patiala House court against chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders for issuing false and defamatory statements against him and his family members over alleged irregularities at the Delhi and District Cricket Association(DDCA).

Making a personal appearance in the court, Jaitley said that he did not take “a single penny” from DDCA and Kejriwal and others made defamatory and baseless allegations.
Jaitley has sought Rs 10 crore as damages from Kejriwal and other AAP leaders — Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee — for their remarks.
Arun Jaitley has been attacked by Kejriwal and other AAP leaders over alleged irregularities and financial bungling in DDCA, of which he was the president for about 13 years till 2013.
