Meerut: Two persons were killed and as many injured after a fight allegedly broke out between a group of customers and employees of a fast-food joint over a difference of Rs 40 in their bill in TP Nagar area in Meerut, police said on Saturday.
Three persons – Nitin Sethi, Satte and Amar – entered in an argument with fast-food joint operator Rajat over a difference of Rs 40 in their bill following which a fight broke out between them last night, a police spokesperson said. One of the joint’s employee hit Nitin with a heavy utensil leading to blood spurting out of his head, he said.
While Satte and Amar fled from the spot, Nitin called his brother Sachin who reached the spot with his accomplices – Monu, Rahul and Sumit – and started fighting with Rajat and his employees, he said.
Monu (25) and Rahul (22) were injured by the fast-food joint’s employees with sharp-edged weapons, he said, adding that while Monu died on the spot, Rahul succumbed during treatment at a hospital. Rajat and three of the fast-food joint employees have been arrested in this connection, the spokesperson said.
