For filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, this is a first. His next release Jazbaa will be dubbed…
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been approached for Sujoy Ghosh’s next, Durga Rani Singh and in all probability, will be doing the film, based on the true life story of a tough female cop.
The role has run the gamut of top female actresses — with everybody from Vidya Balan and Kangana Ranaut to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Irrfan Khan is said to be paired opposite the female protagonist.
Aishwarya tells us, “I am doing three films — Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the biopic on Sarabjit Singh directed by Omung Kumar and a film with Sujoy Ghosh. I think Sujoy’s films have gone to a later date. He had discussed two subjects with me — The Devotion Of Mr X and Durga Rani Singh.”
Apparently, The Devotion Of Mr X, produced by Balaji, has been shelved. Aishwarya says, “Sujoy has not told me that. I still have to meet him to discuss where that’s going. We haven’t had the time to meet once Jazbaa rolled. It was announced in the media that The Devotion Of Mr X was taking off and then announced that it was shelved but I really don’t know what’s happening… He has narrated both the subjects with me and now I have to figure out which one is there. But I know Durga Rani is on for sure!”
