Be it religious beliefs, attitude towards women or personal issues, Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor is not one to mince words. Not on Twitter, clearly. Reacting strongly to internet trolls, the veteran actor has now slammed meat and beef bans.
Rishi got in a Twitter spat with a user, who wrote: “@chintskap Fools like Rishi kapoor eat beef; have a mini church at home and then call themselves a Hindu and comment on Hindu Saints. Think!” The Bobby actor retorted: “What I do, eat, drink or pray is none of your business.”
Rishi, who has been vocal about eating beef in the past, then added: “There’s a perception that I am anti-Hindu. Sad. I am a ‘Proud’ two time a day praying Hindu. But I respect other faiths too. I just say the truth.”
In May, the Maharashtra government banned beef. The 63-year-old actor then landed in a soup after tweeting that he is a “beef eating Hindu”. “I am angry. Why do you equate food with religion?? I am a beef eating Hindu. Does that mean I am less God fearing than a non eater? Think!!,” he tweeted back then.
The actor later asserted in another tweet that trolls must be “embarassed”. “Don’t worry guys. You have to embarass these type of abusive idiots in front of the world. This is the only way. Let their heads hang in shame,” he wrote.
